William J. Shea — Chairman — Elected to Board 2001

William J. Shea has more than 35 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Most recently he co-founded DLB Capital, a private equity firm. Prior to that he was CEO of Conseco, a financial services firm which he successfully restructured and recapitalized, increasing its market capitalization by $3.5 billion. Before Conseco he was vice chair and CFO of BankBoston and vice chairman of Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Shea is currently on the board of directors of AIG SunAmerica, Boston Private Bank, Boston Stock Exchange, and Children’s Hospital Boston, and is chairman of the board of directors of Demoulas SuperMarkets.

Jay M. Eastman — Elected to Board 1991

Jay M. Eastman, Ph.D., has been chief executive officer of Lucid, Inc., since its founding in 1991. Dr. Eastman also serves on the board of Arotech Corp., a U.S. public company, and has been a board member of several other companies, both public and private. He previously worked as executive vice president and senior vice president of strategic planning for PSC, and as president of Optel Systems. He holds, as inventor or co-inventor, 41 patents. Dr. Eastman has been a fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA) and the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE), as well as an honorary member of the Rochester Engineering Society. Dr. Eastman holds a B.S. in optical engineering and a Ph.D. in optics, both from the University of Rochester.

L. Michael Hone — Elected to Board 2002

L. Michael Hone is managing director with Tempus Partners, a Boston, MA, consulting group that works with companies in turnaround. Previously, he was chief operating officer of Conseco Insurance Group. Mr. Hone has also served as president and CEO of Bizfone, specializing in small business telephone systems; president and CEO of Centennial Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of PCMCIA cards; and chairman and CEO of PSC, Inc., a laser scanning product manufacturer. Mr. Hone currently serves as director for EveryNetwork, Inc., and Foto-Fone, Inc.

David A. Lovenheim — Elected to Board 1993

David A. Lovenheim is the managing director of Keystones Global, LLC, a national consulting firm that works with early stage, idea-based companies. He also currently serves as the managing director of Esplanade Ventures and as vice chairman of WR2, Inc., a manufacturer of biohazardous waste disposal equipment. Prior to these positions, Mr. Lovenheim was a partner of the law firm Harris Beach LLP., and before that chief of staff for U.S. Congressman Frank J. Horton. Since 1982, Mr. Lovenheim has served on the boards of directors of more than 30 technology companies in North America and Europe.

Ramey W. Tomson — Elected to Board 1994

Ramey W. Tomson, director of the company, is the wife of the late Dr. Steven H. Tomson, co-founder of Lucid. Mrs. Tomson maintains an active interest in Lucid to support her husband's vision for the company. She is an early childhood education specialist, having worked in that field for the past 35 years. She is also an Orton-Gillingham certified tutor for children with dyslexia. Mrs. Tomson received her bachelor of arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY, and earned a master’s in education from the Bank Street College of Education, New York, NY.
