The Lucid Mission

Lucid believes physicians need better tools to assess dermatologic disease. Until today, dermatologists had to rely primarily on their basic senses of sight and touch to diagnose skin disease and other skin conditions. Today Lucid is providing dermatologists with the most advanced noninvasive skin imaging technology available - in vivo reflectance confocal microscopy - via its VivaScope® confocal imagers. These devices produce detailed cellular images that aid physicians in forming accurate clinical judgments.

Lucid’s second platform technology - VivaNet®, an online medical image server, links a patient’s attending dermatologist to other medical specialists, enabling near-real-time consultations between medical professionals. These rapid collaborations can assist physicians in forming accurate clinical judgments regarding most dermatologic conditions, thus ensuring patient comfort and piece of mind.

Today, both of these leading edge technologies - VivaScopes® and VivaNet® - are in routine use at leading institutions in the United States, Europe, Australia and other countries around the World. Lucid's strategy is to widely deploy these technologies to private dermatology practices to assure access by a broad patient population.
