PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASELucid to Demonstrate Reflective Confocal Microscopy Imaging at AAD ShowSan Antonio, Texas, USA – February 1, 2008 – Lucid, Inc. will demonstrate its In-Vivo Confocal Imaging technology at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) Annual Meeting, February 2-4, 2008, in booth #329. At the show, Lucid will conduct hourly presentations on In-Vivo Confocal Imaging of in-vivo human tissue using the non-invasive VivaScope® Confocal Imagers. Lucid’s VivaScope® Confocal Imagers enable dermatology practitioners to easily and accurately image skin lesions, a procedure which may soon replace routine skin biopsies for many dermatology patients. The practitioner can then utilize the digital image to form a clinical judgment for a variety of skin cancers and conditions, including melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, actinic keratoses, and contact dermatitis. During a typical VivaScope® session, both dermatoscopic quality, full color macroscopic pictures and microscopic, cellular resolution images of the patient’s skin are created. Once all of the images from a single session are completed, the images and patient related data are transferred to the secure VivaNet® server, a network-based, DICOM compliant application that is intended to provide fast and secure storage of VivaScope® images. The images are then immediately available for retrieval by and transfer to other authorized practitioners for their review and collaboration. For more information, or to participate in a VivaScope® imaging demonstration, visit Lucid at the AAD Annual Meeting in booth #329.
